Continuing our discovery of Andalusia, we loved the vertiginous views offered by the bridge in Ronda. Soon after this trip, the weather deteriorated and constant easterly winds prevented us from leaving Estepona.
Olive and almond trees
While driving to Ronda with Véronique and Valéry, the winding road took us through landscapes with rows of olive trees and flowering almond trees.
New Bridge
Our first impression of this 120 m. high bridge was from below. This is actually the third and newest bridge, completed in 1793.
City at the top
The bridge connected the old city and the new quarters, where trading markets were located.
On the edge
On the other side of the bridge, a steep canyon plunges down to the Guadalevin river. Surprisingly, houses are built very close to the edge of the cliffs. Some have lover floors caved in the rock.
Waiting in flowered Estepona
While staying in Estepona, we had the visit of Denise and Bryan (owners of Boreal 44.2 Willow). True to its reputation of flower decorated town, Estepona offers beautiful spots.
Unfortunately, Yan caught a flue and we sure hope that he will not pass it on to Silvia by the time the wind turns to a favorable direction.
